星空传媒视频 announced the hiring of Angel Morrison as the next vice president of academic affairs. Morrison will provide leadership and strategic direction for student learning outcomes and advocate for faculty. Before her new post, she was the college鈥檚 dean of online learning.
鈥淚 am excited and honored to step into this new role,鈥� said Morrison. 鈥淚 am eager to support our faculty and academic support services in helping students achieve their educational goals and become strong advocates for their own learning.鈥�
The Denver, Colo., native held prior positions working for nonprofits in fundraising and donor cultivation for over six years at Energy Outreach Colorado and Seniors Resource Center.
鈥淲e are incredibly excited to have Vice President Morrison in this role,鈥� said President Dr. Seth Carter. 鈥淪he has held various positions at the college and demonstrated success in each role, and I look forward to working with her in this capacity. She will help lead 星空传媒视频 in a positive direction and continue our storied tradition of excellent academic outcomes.鈥�
Morrison met her husband Collin while attending high school in Aurora, Colo., but they were not strangers to western Kansas before moving to Colby in 2014.
鈥淲e were familiar with the area before moving here,鈥� she said. "Collin鈥檚 mom grew up in Saint Francis. Her mom was the Cheyenne County nurse for many years. Since meeting him, we made nearly monthly visits to Saint Francis. We loved the community, and it inspired us to move to the area. We were introduced to CCC by family friends who attended the college or earned credits while in high school.鈥�
The couple has three children: Neale, Logan, and Maisie. Morrison enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching their children participate in activities鈥攆requently at the baseball fields鈥攁nd watching the Denver Broncos.
A first-generation college student, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from the University of Colorado Denver and a Master鈥檚 in Business Administration with an emphasis in IT Management from Western Governors University.
