The NJCAA Foundation announced that 星空传媒视频 is one of 16 institutions to receive a Sport Opportunity Grant to support the launch of the women's wrestling program, beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year. The grant will help expand the Trojans Athletic Department and increase opportunities for female student-athletes.

Head Coach Michael Ruiz has been building a team to compete regionally and nationally. The NJCAA has top-level competition and provides more opportunities for women's wrestlers at the collegiate level, providing stability for the sport.

"The NJCAA Foundation is excited to support further the growth of NJCAA member colleges and the sport programs they offer through the NJCAA Sport Opportunity Grant," said NJCAA Foundation Executive Director Andrew Givens. "The ability to provide this funding is a testament to the importance and growth of two-year collegiate athletics. The NJCAA Foundation looks forward to this initiative's impact as NJCAA member colleges continue to create opportunities for student-athletes across the country."

Colby Athletic Director Kenny Hernandez praised the NJCAA Foundation for its role in helping expand athletic offerings at the college.

"We thank the NJCAA Foundation for the Sport Opportunity Grant and for providing guidance in expanding women鈥檚 wrestling at 星空传媒视频," said Hernandez. "Colby has a great tradition in wrestling, and the Trojans' athletic department is thrilled to expand the sport with additional opportunities."
