High school students across Northwest Kansas will continue to have expanded access to affordable higher education after the 星空传媒视频 Board of Trustees renewed the Colby Commitment Scholarship through the Spring 2027 semester during its April 20 meeting. Trustees will revisit the program at that time.

The Colby Commitment Scholarship provides eligible students with tuition, fees, and books. The award is available to students who receive free or reduced-price meals and attend high schools within the College鈥檚 14-county service area. In addition, all juniors and seniors attending any public, private, or home school in Thomas County qualify.

Students who do not reside in Thomas County or who do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals may still enroll in classes for $50 per credit hour, which includes tuition, fees, and books.

Students attending schools in Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Graham, Logan, Norton, Phillips, Rawlins, Rooks, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, Trego, and Wallace counties may be eligible based on family adjusted gross income in accordance with the Kansas State Department of Education free and reduced meal guidelines.

鈥淲e are grateful to the Board of Trustees for continuing this investment in students and families across our region,鈥 said 星空传媒视频 President Dr. Seth Carter. 鈥淭he Colby Commitment Scholarship increases access to higher education, reduces financial barriers, and helps more students pursue their goals close to home. Ultimately, we are expanding educational opportunity across Northwest Kansas at unprecedented levels while strengthening the communities that make our work possible.鈥

Originally started in January 2024, the Colby Commitment Scholarship has supported more than 935 high school students and covered college-related expenses totaling more than $1.14 million.
