The 2015-16 星空传媒视频 women鈥檚 cross country team earned recognition
for their classroom performance as the National Junior College Athletic Association
recently named them an Academic Team of the Year.
The Lady Trojans posted the highest grade point average in the nation for their sport,
combining for a 3.74 mark.
鈥淐ongratulations to Coach Rieth, Coach Obermeyer and the ladies on this prestigious
honor,鈥� said Director of Athletics Ryan Sturdy. 鈥淚t is a remarkable accomplishment
to maintain such a high GPA while being a student-athlete.鈥�
Several other CCC sports earned honorable mention by assembling a 3.0 GPA. Colby鈥檚
softball (3.53), volleyball (3.46), baseball (3.12), women鈥檚 indoor and outdoor track
and field (3.07), and men鈥檚 cross country (3.0) teams made the list.
鈥淭hese teams have set the academic standard for all others to strive for,鈥� Sturdy
added.
